INCIDENT MANAGEMENT, TRAFFIC SIMULATION, TRAFFIC PREDICTION: THE NEW TOOLS FOR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ON THE PARIS ILE-DE-FRANCE MOTORWAY NETWORK
The Ile de France region concentrates around Paris some of the most difficult traffic conditions in Europe. During the last years, a real-time traffic control and information system called SIRIUS (Information Service for a Network Understandable by Users) has been set up. Installed on the eastern part of the region's motorway network, SIRIUS improves the drivers comfort by informing them on variable message signs about traffic conditions via travel times.
