HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE FUNDING STUDY. FINAL REPORT, DECEMBER 1996
The County Surveyors Society commissioned Coopers and Lybrand to carry out an investigation into local authority roads and to review published information on road maintenance funding and expenditure. Section 1 of the report considers the context for investment in roads and section 2 presents a perspective on local authority road investment (newbuild and maintenance which covers traffic levels and types, funding and expenditure and road conditions. The report refers also to the project report by WDM Limited "Comparison of spending and structural condition of principal road network 1993-1996".
