CONDITION MONITORING SYSTEM FOR STEAM TURBINE SHIPS
The paper deals with the alarm system of a steam power plant, and shows how it can be improved by use of condition monitoring. Four examples are given: the main condenser, resistance increase due to fouling of the ship or heavy weather, boiler efficiency, and control of the mechanical efficiency of turbine and gear.
