CARPOOLING: ATTITUDES AND PARTICIPATION
This paper reviews carpooling experience in Iowa as measured by conventional survey methods and then describes an experimental study of attitudes toward carpooling. The experimental study explores the attractives of carpools using the information integration approach of experimental psychology, examining how the desirability of carpools varies as a function of the sex of each rider and whether or not the rider is a prior acquanitance of the respondent. /Author/
