SHIP SUPPORT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

This paper provides an overview of the Ship Support Improvement Project being managed and directed by PMS306. The paper addresses its history and need, present status, and future intentions. Major areas covered are: a) Development of an integrated, engineered, reliability-centered maintenance strategy for the Fleet. b) Development and implementation of new engineered maintenance strategies for LO-MIX ships (FFG-7 and PHM-1 Classes), Destroyer Engineered Operating Cycle (DDEOC) and EOC for other ship classes. c) Development and implementation of maintenance support improvements, e.g., upgrading of Intermediate Maintenance Activities, Rework of Shipboard Repairables, and Personnel and Training initiatives.
