ONE-SIDE WELDING AGAINST BACKING

ENSIDESSVETSNING MOT ROTSTUD

A survey of the various backings available in Sweden is given in a table, listing type, manufacture, and application. The use of metal powder as a backing is discussed for different types of welding methods. The effect of the backing on the final weld is dealt with and the choice of backing is discussed. An economic evaluation of the method is given.
