ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT MANUAL

This manual arose out of a brief undertaken by MSJ Keys Young Planners for the Department of Main Roads entitled "enviromental impact study procedures, techniques for evaluation of enviromental impact, road and bridge works". This brief among other things required the consultants to produce "a systematic decision-making framework for making environmental impact assessments". The manual therefore sets out to provide that framework for the full range of anticipated impacts, and builds on that frame to provide guidance on the " difficult to quantify " areas. This document has focused on techniques which could, at this " state of the art ", be made operational. A companion report by MSJ Keys Young Planners, "environmental evaluation", discusses some of these techniques in more depth. /TRRL/
