ROAD TRANSPORT OF HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS. A MANUAL OF PRINCIPAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
The purpose of this manual is to establish minimum safety requirements for road transport of hazardous chemicals. The recommendations contained in the manual apply generally to the movement of hazardous chemicals, but particular attention has been paid to bulk movement in road tankers. The arrangement of the manual is as follows: chapter 1 - responsibilities; 2 - factors to be considered; 3 - driver selection and training; 4 - operational standards; 5 - dealing with emergencies; 6 - legislation, draft regulatory proposals and codes of practice; 7 - bibliography. Details of general safety check list for road transport of chemicals, emergency centre check list, procedure for discharging road tankers, etc, are appended. /TRRL/
