RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE REPAIR OF REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES WITH INDENE-COUMARONE RESINS

This is a translation (lcpc 76 t 29) from Russian into French. For several years studies were conducted at the Civil Engineering Teaching Institute in Vilnius, of the possibility of using relatively low-cost binders, commercialized under the names of ikas-3 and lks-1, containing indene, coumarone and acrylate, for repairing concrete structures. The studies showed that the binders harden quickly, have satisfactory adhesion to metal and concrete, high mechanical strength and resistance to water, frost and wear, and good resistance to chemical agents. Tests were carried out in concrete plants manufacturing reinforced concrete units, on structures being built or already opened to traffic. The test results showed the effectiveness of the materials used and methods employed for the repair works. Recommendations are put forward, based on the results of laboratory and in situ studies. /TRRL/
