THE EXPERIMENTAL USE OF ELECTRONIC DIRECTION-FINDING INDICATORS IN SNOW-CLEARANCE
FORSOK MED ELEKTRONISAK ORIENTERINGSHJALPMEDEL VID SNOROJNING
Equipment designed to detect the lateral position of snow-clearance vehicles and to transmit steering information to the driver, has been developed and tested under realistic conditions. The experimental method used for detecting the lateral position of a vehicle is based on the principle of a magnetic steering cable in the road, i.e. by exploiting the magnetic field generated from an alternating current in the cable. Steering information is received by detectors mounted on the vehicle and transmitted visually to the driver by indicators showing the position of the vehicle in relation to the steering cable. /Author/
