DEMANDS FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT MODES
EFTERFRAAGAN AV KOLLEKTIVA TRANSPORTMEDEL
The main purpose of this study was to find out the attitudes of the individual to different qualities of the present transport modes. Interviews regarding behaviour and attitudes of travellers, cost dependence and the willingness to change from private to public transport have been carried out. From these interviews models describing the traveller's choice between private and public transport have been derived. The models comprise explanation and convenience factors. Empirical data applied to the models show that the convenience factor is of great importance for the choice behaviour of travellers, while the explanation factor describing the fare systems is less important. /TRRL/
