A POLICY PLAN FOR TRAFFIC SAFETY

BELEIDSPLAN VOOR DE VERKEERSVEILIGHEID

The minister of traffic and waterways of the Netherlands presents his policy for traffic safety. The aim of the traffic safety policy is to decrease the number of traffic accidents particularly by decreasing the number of people killed and injured by traffic. The interests of the necessary and desired amount and quality of mobility and controlled traffic and the desired quality of the environment for working and living in are taken into account. Traffic safety cannot be separated from the total traffic and transport policy. The fundamental desire for personal mobility should not be fulfilled without traffic safety. This means controlled traffic having limitations. /TRRL/
