VIBRATION OF A CAVITY-BACKED PANEL
The vibration of a thin flexible membrane is analyzed for an intermediate range of acoustic frequencies. The results show that the panel natural frequency is shifted and that it is possible to eliminate panel motion by suitable cavity construction. Theory is presented to explain the phenomenon.
