ROAD MAINTENANCE. A BRITISH ROAD FEDERATION REPORT
In the report it is shown that the standards of road maintenance recommended in the Marshall report in 1970 have never been achieved and that financial provision for road maintenance has been gradually reduced since 1973. Patterns of expenditure in the period from 1975/6 to 1979/80 on trunk and local authority roads in England and Wales are outlined, the effects of neglect and the problems faced by the county authorities are discussed. /TRRL/
