The present investigation comprises part of a project at the Swedish Cement and Concrete Research Institute. One of the aims of the project is to offer an alternative possibility for documenting concrete strength with requirements on the results achieved in the finished structure independently of its compaction and curing. This report presents studies of various strength properties--compressive strength, splitting strength and centric tensile strength--partly through an inventory of the literature and partly through experiments in the laboratory and, to a certain extent, in the field. Reasonable strength requirements have been established for finished structures in-situ. In addition, the influence of various factors on the strength in these structures has been investigated. Matters related to testing have been investigated to a certain extent in conjunction with these experiments and have also been summarized from the literature.
