EXPERIMENTAL DETERMINATION OF DRAG FORCES AND HINGE MOMENTS ON BARGE FLOTILLAS
A series of 1/5.52-scale models of a proposed inland barge flotilla was tested in a ship model basin. Various model configurations were tested in water depths varying from fifty to five feet and at speeds up to the maximum safe velocity. Model test results, extrapolated to full scale, are presented along with suggested operational limitations and recommendations for achieving improved performance. ( Author )
