ADVANTAGES AND GENERAL CONDITIONS OF USE OF ADMIXTURES USED IN STRUCTURAL CONCRETE

POSIBILIDADES, VENTAJAS Y CONDICIONES GENERALES DE EMPLEO DE LOS ADITIVOS EN EL HORMIGON ESTRUCTURAL

This report draws attention to some important factors concerning admixtures, which relate to the conditions in which these materials must be used on the construction site, if maximum benefit is to be derived from their use. It also points out the precautions to be taken. A detailed analysis is presented of the nature and action of admixtures under the following headings: 1) admixtures. Definition and use on site; 2) brief history. Importance of the admixture industry in the field of concrete; 3) possibilities and advantages of admixtures; 4) rapid increase in the use of admixtures in structural concrete; 5) importance of the make, technical organization, and professional honesty of the manufacturer; 6) general conditions of use; 7) different types of admixture; 8) technical specifications. /TRRL/
