DEVELOPMENT OF CABLE LAID SLINGS
Heavy lifting requirements in the North Sea area have demanded an increase in size and capacity of sling assemblies. Production of these larger slings has kept apace with market requirements but due to many factors comprehensive product evaluation has been somewhat restricted. The paper discusses reasons for present design, production and certification policies in conjunction with progressing research analysis.
