STUDY ON CALCULATION METHODS FOR PASSENGER-CAR EQUIVALENTS IN TRAFFIC FLOW
Some calculation methods for passenger-car equivalents (PCE) gained form various angles are reviewed. Different methods reach different results. A new calculation method for PCE is presented, which is based on the interaction among vehicles and combined with the dynamic characteristic parameters of vehicles. In this method, PCE is only related to the dynamic characteristics of vehicles, ratio power can be used as the basis for dividing vehicle types, PCE values vary with the loading capacity of vehicles.
