MODERN VEHICLE MAINTENANCE BY APPLICATION OF DIAGNOSTIC INSTALLATIONS

New methods are reported for checking the position of current collectors, the tire wear and the functioning of the cam-operated switch of electric railroads. The resulting increase of expenditures associated with the maintenance of electric multiple units of the Hamburg rapid transit system in West Germany are discussed.
