HIGH PERFORMANCE PAINTS FOR COST EFFECTIVENESS
Three different paint systems are considered: 1)A conventional, oleoresinous or bituminous based priming system followed by conventional antifouling, 2)A high performance system based on chlorinated rubber, followed by high strength antifouling, and 3)A high performance system, based on coal tar epoxy primers, followed by high strength antifouling. Cost evaluation based on preparation, application, material, and system maintenance shows that the first system is superior.
