EQUILIBRIUM TODAY, UNCERTAINTY TOMORROW
Ships engaged in reefer trades can be divided into three categories: small vessels up to 150,000 cubic feet capacity; medium sized ships of 150/250,000 cubic feet capacity; and the dominating class from 200,000 to 625,000 cubic feet capacity. All of them are subject to the same seasonal flucuations and trends in the market. Alv Roy Thomassen, director responsible for reefer chartering with A/S Klaveness Chartering of Oslo, provides here a guide to the sector, concentrating on the larger vessels and the tramp market.
