PLANNING AND OPERATION OF AIRPORTS
PROGRAMMAZIONE E GESTIONE AEROPONTUALE
This article analyses the causes of the low growth rate of air traffic in Italy in recent years. Airport siting in relation to urban areas, noise control problems, space requirements and land use, and rapid access, are discussed. Operating conditions and tariffs at Rome and Milan airports are discussed in relation to public and private interests, and operational productivity.
