COMPENSATION FOR OIL POLLUTION AT SEA: AN INSURANCE APPROACH
This comment first discusses the potential damages aspect of oil spills. Then, the various limits of liability now existing are presented, followed by a discussion of tanker indemnity insurance. Against this background, suggestions are made for a more equitable distribution of the risks of oil pollution from tankers.
