RAILWAY NOISE PROPAGATION
The propagation of railway noise is characterised by the typical arrangement of noise sources on a moving train. The rates of sound attenuation with distance are determined for peak levels and for the equivalent steady sound levels in the cases of omnidirectional, and directional sources. The means of noise control within the path of sound progagation are discussed.
