DESIGN, SURVEY AND REPAIR OF OFFSHORE STRUCTURES
The author discusses the design, construction and survey of floating and fixed offshore structures used for the exploration and production of oil and gas. Casualty data is presented for jack-up barges and semisubmersibles, and development of fixed offshore steel structures is detailed. Surveys during construction of mobile or fixed offshore structures, as well as surveys of existing structures and damage surveys are described with particular emphasis on safety and environmental considerations.
