IMPROVEMENT IN THE QUALITY OF CONCRETE THROUGH SELECTION OF THE MIX DESIGN
POVYSHENIE KACHESTVA BETONA PUTEM PODBORA EGO SOSTAVA
This article describes the recent trends in the type of concrete used in road construction in the USSR. The evolution led to a greater workability, which facilitates laying without using formwork. Theoretical and experimental studies were conducted to investigate the influence of mix design (reduction in the number of chippings) on the mechanical strength of concrete at 28 days, and on its capillary structure. Tests were carried out on concrete with and without air-entraining agents. /TRRL/
