MV PASCAL: 15,000 CBM LPG/NH3 TANKER
The gas tanker Pascal, designed and built by Boele's Shipyards & Engineering Co. for Gazocean, can carry anhydrous ammonia, propane, butane, propane/butane mixtures, propylene, vinyl chloride, propylene oxide, and isoprene. Two different cargoes can be carried, and loaded and discharged, simultaneously. The cargo is carried in six horizontal cylindrical tanks equipped with deepwell pumps designed for a discharge time of 10 hr. Nos. 2 and 3 tanks are arranged athwartships; the others are mounted fore and aft, with Nos. 4 and 5 side-by-side below No. 6. The article gives a brief description of the ship, her machinery, and reliquefaction plant, safety, and other equipment, and includes general- arrangement drawings and a list of equipment suppliers.
