ON THE HORIZONTAL AND TORSIONAL VIBRATION OF SHIPS
Numerical computation method of coupled torsion-horizontal vibration of ships was developed and coded for IBM-7040 computer. The characteristics of the coupled vibration were studied for uniform beams by the analytical and the numerical method. The frequency calculation was made for 4 ships and the results were compared with the measured frequencies. Both agreed by about 10% of error.
