OPTIMIZATION METHOD AND PARAMETRIC STUDY IN PRECONTRACTED SHIP DESIGN
In the last years a number of papers related to the application of optimization methods and parametric studies in pre-contracted design have been published. The present paper makes a comparison of these two techniques, discussing their advantages and disadvantages. It proposes some means by which these techniques can be used more efficiently. They are later supported by an exact description of the sample programs for optimization and parametric study.
