CANADA/JAPAN OFF-SHORE STRUCTURES PROJECT
Technical experts of the two countries agreed to a joint work plan which would be based initially on design and operational factors of existing structures used for berthing and mooring large vessels. The joint program includes a statistical analysis of existing operational parameters, full instrumentation of a Canadian structure, combined with physical and mathematical model studies to enable a better appreciation of the significant factors as well as extend the results from model testing of typical situations to a wider spectrum of natural conditions.
