DEEP WATER DRILLING WITHOUT ANCHORS -- DYNAMIC STATIONING
The paper describes the successful drilling of exploration wells from a dynamically stationed drill ship in water depths ranging between 305 and 671 m. The operating performance of the subsea and stationing equipment is reported. Specifically outlined is the operational experience gained before drilling full scale exploration wells in several parts of the world while dynamically stationing the drill ship.
