A METHOD FOR THE AUTOMATIC DETERMINATION OF THE SIGNIFICANT COMPONENTS OF ROUTE LAYOUT

UN METHODO PER LA DETERMINAZIONE AUTOMATICA DI ELEMENTI SIGNIFICANTIVI DEI TRACCAIT

This paper presents a method for defining the horizontal axis of a road, once the poligonals of the axis have been fixed. The method is based on a criterion for the selection of the curve radii; which in addition to being standard, is easily transformable into FORTRAN instructions. The program described permits the automatic determination of the horizontal axis for an entire route, taking account of all the constraints of individual cases and different types of road. /TRRL/
