NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF RIGID PAVEMENT RESTING OVER HOOKEAN SUBGRADE CONTINUUM
Although boundary value problems have been solved with the Winkler model of subgrade assumed by Westergaard, the solutions have not been fully developed and utilized. The complex mathematics involved with these solutions have tended to impede their use. The corresponding Westergaard's equations with Winkler subgrade assumption are in the closed form and hence are much easier to handle. Similar types of solutions are required to be developed for pavement slabs resting over the subgrade idealized by Hookean model, which is what the paper describes for various cases and analyzes the results of these applications.
