GOOD PLANNING SMOOTHS RECORD BRIDGE JOINT REPAIR
It is reported how replacement of open-type bridge joints with new neoprene-sealed types was carried out at more than 700 work sites in 13 weeks on Chicago's Stevenson Freeway. Joint pads were anchored in one of two ways: drilled and epoxy grouted bolts, or cast in place bolts with epoxy underlayer to seal and glue the joints in between the bolts.
