MACHINERY SPACE DEFLECTION AND VIBRATION ANALYSIS USING FINITE ELEMENT METHODS
The development of many new and unconventional ship designs has caused builders to resort to the use of new methods of strength and vibrational analysis. One such method, known as SESAM-69, is a finite element programme system specially adapted for use of the superelement of substructure technique. SESAM-69 has been used for deflection analysis of the double bottom construction in the engine room. SESAM-69 has been used successfully on tankers, LNG carriers and containerships.
