ANALYSIS OF SOME CHARACTERISTICS OF PEDESTRIAN TRAVEL
As serious attempts are made to alleviate the problem of congestion in the central business districts, it becomes apparent that knowledge of pedestrian travel behavior is very important. This paper describes a pedestrian travel survey for the central business district of Chicago and analyzes the results. The factors that affect trip-length distributions and time of travel are described; comparisons are made with other urban centers. /Author/
