PARAMETRIC SELECTION OF NAVIGATION SYSTEMS WITH EMPHASIS ON SYSTEMS REQUIRING INERTIAL NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT
The increased reliance on more complex navigation systems for both military and nonmilitary applications has compounded the difficulty in establishing proper navigation system requirements. The potential user is faced: (1) with selecting from among an increasing variety of navigation equipments, and (2) with specifying the critical characteristics and parameters of the selected equipments. The range of critical variables stems partly from the complex interactions of the system parameters with each other and with parameter variations caused by operational conditions. Isolation of the major parameters to show the effects of parametric variation on navigation system selection is a logical way to reduce the scope of the selection process.
