LAGOS AIRPORT PREPARES FOR THE YEAR 2000
Lagos International Airport has long ceased to meet present air traffic requirements. It could perhaps have been modernized through a series of relatively minor operations, or a new one could have been built. Both these solutions have been rejected. Instead, the airport is now to be radically remodeled step by step over an extented period. The first stage of the wash is expected to be completed in 1977. The master plan and details of the major construction operations are described.
