U.S. SHIPYARDS TURN THE CORNER
An information survey is given of the dramatic changes taking place in the design of ocean transport. Specialized ship types of standard design are increasing productivity. The activites at various American shipyards in the fields of design, and materials and manufacturing processes employed, especially welded fabrication, are described.
