DEVELOPMENT OF SLURRY TRENCH WALLS AND ANCHORAGE RODS IN DEEP EXCAVATION PITS IN URBAN ZONES

LE DEVELOPPEMENT DES PAROIS MOULEES ET TIRANTS D'ANCRAGE DANS LES FOUILLES PROFONDES EN SITE URBAN

Examples are given of recent excavation pits in urban areas with emphasis on the technological progress made over the last few years. As regards slurry trench walls, attention is drawn to the following: design methods by computer; imperviousness of shafts; depth of excavations; full scale tests; prefabricated walls. As repards Anchorage rods, a study is made of the following: improvement in the bearing capacity of the roads in low-quality ground; protection of final rods against corrosion; methodology for experimental rods. /TRRL/
