PLANT FOR WINTER ROAD MAINTENANCE
MASKINPARKEN FOER VINTERVAEGHAALLINGEN
Plant for winter road maintenance is out of use for at least half the year, and must therefore cost as little as possible. The answer is to mount attachments on ordinary vehicles. Diagonal blades and sand/salt spreaders can be fitted to practically any vehicle. Snow ejectors can be mounted on tractors or wheeled loaders. Vee-blades are mounted on any vehicle, particularly lorries. Graders are very suitable for scraping ice and moving large quantities of snow. Damage to manhole covers and the road surface can be prevented by spring loading the blades and fitting rubber mouldings on their edges. A new machine which can be fitted with a number of attachments has been developed for footway clearance. A new sander unit has a discharging device in front of the rear wheel, enabling the driver to spread sand where it is needed. /TRRL/
