REDUCED DRAUGHT AT SEA: ITS PROBLEMS
At reduced draught a ship gains speed. Trouble may arise however: primarily in rough water in connection with slamming, racing and manoeuvring, and secondarily in a calm sea in connection with vibrations. A criterion is suggested insuring course keeping capability in a strong wind.
