AN ALTERNATE POWER SOURCE
Hydraulic tools have cut operating costs in many areas. Such tools are self-lubricating and therefore do not require a high degree of maintenance. This has also resulted in savings on parts. Service trucks using hydraulic tools have no need for an air compressor and have extra room for a greater variety of equipment. A maintenance trucks towing capacity is increased by not having to take a compressor. Hydraulic tools are quieter than air tools, and are safer than electrical tools. Hydraulic tools are safe in shops with ignitable gases. Advantages relating to operator efficiency, underwater construction, and shop applications are also noted.
