RESPONSE OF BEAMS TO PROPAGATING BOUNDARY EXCITATION
An exact solution is presented for the transient response of viscously damped Bernoulli-Euler beams with arbitrary boundary conditions that are subjected to directly applied dynamic loads in addition to arbitrary support motion. It is shown that, for certain system characteristics, the wave-like progression of the disturbance may have a significant influence on the structural response of such beams. /Author/
