FULL DEPTH AND DEEP STRENGTH ASPHALT PAVEMENTS IN VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA
The article covers the experience of the Country Roads Board of Victoria, Australia since about 1970, with the design and construction of full depth and deep strength asphalt pavements. Construction has been confined mainly to urban areas or heavily trafficked situations. The pavement design procedures adopted for full depth and deep strength asphalt pavements are given, together with examples of these pavemetns. Various construction aspects are discussed including asphalt mixes used, advantages and disadvantages.
