ULTIMATE LOAD AND BUCKLING BEHAVIOR OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BRIDGE PIERS SUPPORTED ON ROLLERS

Determination of the ultimate load of slender reinforced concrete bridge piers with roller supports, considering the interaction between superstructure and pier, can only by made by means of a computer, if adequate precision is to be obtained without combersome efforts. In the present paper the principles of a respective program are derived in FORTRAN IV, the geometrical and mechanical properties of the roller support being taken into account.
