ABOUT THE USE OF PRECRUSHED GRANULATED SLAG
A PROPOS DE L'UTILISATION DU LAITIER GRANULE PREBROYE
This note is a follow up of the discussion published in the Bull Liaison Lab Ponts Chauss 79 (IRRD 103445) and 81 (IRRD 103963). It gives the point of view of civil engineering firms. The relations between the fines content and reactivity, and the cost of crushing and fines content are recalled, and the advantages and disadvantages of crushing on site or during the manufacturing processes are discussed. Details are given of the use of precrushed granulated slag for the stabilization of gravel and sand. Mention is made of the numerous utilizations of precrushed granulated slag in Normandie, since 1972 (strengthening and widening of existing pavements, construction of new pavements). /TRRL/
