DRILLING RATE LOGGING BY MEANS OF AN APPARATUS USED FOR PETROLEUM INVESTIGATIONS
DIAGRAPHIES DE VITESSE D'AVANCEMENT AVEC UN APPAREIL ISSU DE LA RECHERCHE PETROLIERE
This short note describes an apparatus adapted to drilling for civil engineering operations. It has two measuring channels: it records the drilling rate on one channel while on the other channel either the acceleration measured on the apparatus or the air pressure is recorded. For a continuous energy, the drilling rate expresses the resistance of the rock or the soil in contact with the drilling tool. To obtain this instantaneous logging, the drilling machine is adjusted for a given interval. Details are given for the case of drilling with a rock drill hammer. /TRRL/
