ACCIDENT VICTIMS UNDER NO-FAULT AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE: A MASSACHUSETTS SURVEY
The positive attitudes towards P.I.P. insurance expressed by the vast majority of the claimants interviewed for this portion of the CLRS No-Fault study are most encouraging. Moreover, in the cause of the study, numerous conversations that the author has conducted with both government and insurance industry officials suggest that these individuals also believe that the system is effectively serving the needs of most claimants. These discussions also disclosed that the industry sought to use the introduction of no-fault insurance as a means of substantially improving its relationships with consumers in Massachusetts. The survey data compiled in this segment of the CLRS No-Fault study demonstrate that, from the perspective of the P.I.P. claimant, the industry has made significant progress towards attaining that goal. /Author/
